Interview with SU TV

My man James gave me an opportunity to interview on his show over at SU TV and I couldn't pass it up. The interview consists of a conversation regarding music, inspiration and this blog. The video will be uploaded within a few weeks after editing is finished and below are some photos taken behind scenes?

Pharrell Williams Creates Artst.com

Below is an interview done by current with Pharrell Williams promoting his new online community for worldwide artists, Artst.com. I hope Pharrell markets this correctly and doesn't allow advertisements and various other promotional web clutter to interfere with the purpose of this community (Artist's sharing their work, collaborating, etc.). Either way, the whole concept is cool. Seeing that he is an artist and can attract different genres from different nations it might allow this community to grow and flourish. Check me out at Nick City.

Assignment: Public Service Announcment - Lady Gaga

For my audio production class, our first assignment was to create a 30 second public service announcement about a woman. This was done in roughly 20 minutes from recording vocals to creating the track. It's simple, and the quality isn't anything to scream about but leave a comment below.

Mixtape: Drake - So Far Gone

To download, click HERE....

I am late, I know... but I finally got around to listening to this mixtape and Drake did his thing. Delivery and flow are on point, and the production fits his style very well. This mixtape inspired me to not be afraid to put together a track that seems different and sounds soulful.

Gametime Monday

Today I wore these Nike SB Trainer 2s and a pair of Rock and Republics.

New Track: Halo - Beyonce (Mysto and Pizzi Remix)

I enjoy acknowledging talent and this remix features production from two up and coming producers out of Queens, NY. They already have recieved major label placements and have a record on R. Kelly's latest album "Double Up", which went Platinum.

Bape Spring Release

One of my favorite brands, I bought my first A Bathing Ape T-shirt in 2005 on a high school trip to New york. My friends and I skipped a few museum tours we were supposed attend and went straight to Soho.

*The jacket and T-shirt release this month.

**The stripes on the jacket are ILLY.

Today I wore Air Structures and a pair of 7s.

NBC's Friday Night Lights

If anyone has seen the movie Friday Night Lights, it's very similar to NBC's current television series Friday Night Lights. The series features the same type of characters but set in present time and the aspect of a television series allows the script to become more in depth, creating an ILLY show. Friday Night Light's airs on NBC, Friday night's at 9 pm.

If you've missed previous shows from whichever season (currently airing season 3), NBC has the episodes available in HD and online for free HERE...

Mixtape: Charles Hamilton - Well isn't this Akward?

To download, click HERE...

Charles Hamilton is witty and his flow will catch up on you. Below is his video for "Brooklyn Girls", currently in rotation on MTV JAMS.

Fred Perry X Peter Jensen

I am a fan of Fred Perry clothing. Their short sleeve Polo fits comfortably well and this collaboration with Peter Jensen is intriguing. The oversize collar adds flavor to the jacket and with three different colors available (red, black, blue/white), Fred Perry provides a decent variety when choosing this design.

Grammy Performance - Swagger Like Us

Not to knock Jennifer Hudson's performance and Radiohead's, but this was by far the best performance of the night (sick in HD). Guitar soloist got busy, especially on transitions.

Beats By Dr. Dre

I first started noticing these headphones in music videos everywhere. I wanted to listen before purchasing to preview the quality of the headphones because at $299.99, these headphones should be worth it. After about second track, halfway through Cold Play's "Viva La Vida", I knew these headphones were a must for all my tracking needs. The active noise cancellation is one of the best I've heard in a pair of headphones.

Nylon Guys

I am a huge fan of magazines and how things/people are promoted and advertised within them. Nylon Guys is a magazine that provides great flavor to a variety of people. The latest issue features Pharrell Williams on the cover, check a glimpse of the photo shoot footage below.
